ya casi toda subyugada, y lo estara completamente dentro de pocas semanas,
incluso el Portugal — mitad por voluntad, y mitad por fuerza; habiendo sacri-
ficado por ignorancia lo que no es creible! La infame Junta Central, esta mas
generalmente aborrecida y despreciada, que el maldito Godoy Principe de la
Paz ... mas esto viene despues del Asno muerto como dicen.
Cuídeme V. a Cayetano, Josef María, y Loon:—Rutherfurd me pre-
gunta siempre por V.—¿Porque el hijo de Sorzano no se ha reunido con sus
Compatriotas de Caracas? mis memorias al Padre, e hijo.—Adiós.

dres, del 13 de Febrero de 1810 — Inserta noticias de El Expectador de Sevilla,
referentes a la insurrección de Quito.

General Miranda has the honour to send to Mr. Wilberforce the few
extracts from the late classic authors about the Spanish Colonies of South
America, which he promised him the other day. He sends also the copy of
Capto. Beaver’s letter about the occurences that took place in the City of Ca-
racas, when they learnt the invasion of the French &c. — (and which paper, if
he should not absolutely want, he begs him to return after perusal).
Two printed copies of Viscardo’s Lettre Aux Espagnols-Americains;
where he will find the solid grounds of our contention with the Spanish
oppressors, and their abominable old government. There is more truth, jus-
tice, and solid reasoning in this small Pamphlet, than in all the speeches and
assertions, about Spain and South America, that he has yet seen or heard of
from the noble Lord H-D.
