Great Cross Medal
The Great Cross medal consists of a stylish silk band worn transversely on
the right shoulder, and ending in a ribbon with a rosette, from which there
hangs a Commander medal, together with a Great Officer plaque.
When the Great Cross is awarded to Sovereigns or Heads of State or Presidents
of Government, the medal and the plaque shall include an enameled
oak
crown.
The Great Cross is awarded to Sovereigns or Heads of State or Presidents
of Government, Foreign Affairs Ministers, Ambassadors, outstanding
Parliamentarians, high Armed Forces Chiefs, and other prominent civilian personalities. |
Great Officer Medal
It is a plaque-shaped golden decoration medal, 80 mm. by 60 mm. |

Knight Commander Medal
It is a golden decoration medal, 60 mm by 40 mm, hanging from a golden enameled
crown of laurel that is worn around the neck through a steel-colored ribbon. |
Officer Medal
It is a 40-mm-by-30-mm silver medal, which has a golden oak crown around
the obverse area showing the figure representing the Constitution (central
sculpture
of the facade of the Legislative Palace) and on the reverse there
is the National Coat of Arms. An edge line inside the oak crown circles the
figures, and on the obverse has the inscription "MEDAL OF HONOR OF THE
CONGRESS OF PERU 1964", and on the reverse the inscription "FOR
THE CONSTITUTION OF THE REPUBLIC". The medal hangs from a golden enameled
crown of laurel which in turn hangs from a ribbon that has a central rosette
of the
same color. |

Knight Medal
It is a 40-mm-by-30-mm silver medal, which has an oak crown

The crucifix is a religious ornament used in official and protocol ceremonies
held at the Congress of the Republic. |
Ballot Tray
The ballot tray is an open receptacle that contains the balls with which
Members used to vote in the plenary sessions of Congress. The
white
balls meant yes and the black ones meant no. |

Ballot Box
The ballot box is a vessel in which the congressmen used to deposit their
balls showing their decisions to vote in favor or against the matter under
debate.
The balls were deposited one by one by each Member, such as
is shown in the picture, and then the authorities proceeded to do the computing
to find out the final outcome of the voting. |
