Peru’s traditional art is one of the richest in the world. Its huge range of variations makes it visible the relations between our coast, Andean and Amazonian communities with the rest of the world.
The Hall of Peruvian Traditional Art Joaquín López Antay is a joint project by the Congress of the Republic and the National Directorate of Handicrafts from the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism. Its goal is to publicize the work of our senior artisans that have taken the different lines of traditional art to extraordinary levels of exquisiteness and expression.
The Festivity of Corpus Christi is the greatest religious manifestation of the city of Cusco, with a massive participation of the civil society and the church. The pieces displayed are the creation of the renowned Cusco artisan Hilario Mendívil and they belong to the Doris Gibson collection.
This Hall is currently part of the tourist circuit of the Historical Center, a tour devised and promoted by the City Council of Lima.
