The Parliamentary General Direction is a unit depending on the Secretariat General of Congress. It shall be responsible for handling legislative proposals, arranging the calendar of the Plenary Assembly, Permanent Assembly and Executive Council; coordinating matters concerning parliamentary offices, supervising the Congressional Record and the drafting of Plenary Assembly and Permanent Assembly proceedings, pursuant to statutory rules. It is led by a senior official called Parliamentary General Director, appointed by the Bureau upon the Secretary General’s proposal
The Parliamentary General Director substitutes the Secretary General in case of his absence or temporary inability.
